GPT-6 Astra Missing on Plus? Check Chat, Work and Codex

If GPT-6 Astra is missing on ChatGPT Plus, first check which interface you are using. Plus includes Astra in Work and Codex as access rolls out. That does not mean GPT-6 Pro appears in the ordinary Chat model picker. This guide helps Plus users check the interface, account and client before treating a missing option as an installation problem.

Where should Plus users look for Astra?

The official ChatGPT model guide distinguishes GPT-6 Pro in Chat from Astra in Work and Codex.

At the verification date, GPT-6 Pro in Chat is rolling out to Pro $100, Pro $200, Business and Enterprise. Enterprise access also depends on workspace permissions. Plus receives Astra through Work and Codex as rollout progresses. A screenshot from another plan is therefore not evidence that your Plus account is missing a button it should have.

GPT-6 Pro is a model option; ChatGPT Pro is a subscription plan. When searching for help, specify “Plus + Work” or “Pro + Chat” so that the answer addresses the interface you actually use.

Switch between Chat, Work and Codex on desktop

The official Work and Codex guide describes a top-level ChatGPT/Codex selector. Within ChatGPT, check the Chat/Work switch.

1. Confirm that you are signed into the account that holds the subscription. Record whether you are in a personal or team workspace.
2. Find the ChatGPT/Codex selector at the top of the desktop app.
3. Within ChatGPT, check whether you are in Chat or Work. If Work itself is missing, continue with the version and rollout checks.
4. Inspect model options in that interface. The Chat model menu does not establish whether Work or Codex has access.

Choose the interface around the task: Work for a report or spreadsheet, Codex for repository changes and tests. Then check the plan entitlement for that interface.

What if the account and interface are correct?

Rollout and workspace permissions can still affect visibility. Astra requires Codex CLI 0.153.0 or later; update the desktop app as well. CLI users can inspect the version with this read-only command:

codex --version

On desktop, check Menu → Check for Updates. Reopen the relevant interface afterward. If the terminal still reports an older version, identify the installation you are launching before repeatedly reinstalling.

This is a troubleshooting sequence, not a diagnosis of a specific account. Record the interface, account, workspace, time and exact message. Those details are more useful than an unexplained screenshot of a disabled menu.

Can credits or an API key unlock access?

The Work/Codex guide states that buying credits does not grant early access during rollout. Credits cover eligible extra usage. Check model access before deciding whether extra usage is necessary.
