Succession plan for key roles
Identify critical roles and their vacancy risk, assess successor readiness, and set development plans and contingencies so a departure doesn't stall the business.
Prompt
Build a succession plan for key roles such as regional general manager and CFO at an 800-employee retail chain. Purpose: avoid gaps when key people leave and grow internal successors on purpose. Requirements: list critical roles and their vacancy risk, assess one to three candidates per role on strengths, gaps and readiness, flag high-risk roles with no suitable successor, set development plans with timing and owners, and add interim coverage and external hiring plans for at-risk roles. Base every judgment on observed performance and mark the document confidential.
